About my Practice

My name is Janina and I am currently based in Bremen, in the north of Germany. I am a passionate designer with a focus on holistic, sustainability-led practice — particularly within more-than-human.

I understand design as something that shapes our shared world: not only for humans, but for the wider ecosystems we are part of. Our environments are designed and continuously co-produced through interactions between people, materials, technologies and other species. For me, this means design is always relational — and it comes with responsibility. Clear, well-communicated intentions are essential, allowing creative work to develop into grounded, purposeful outcomes. Through exploratory and future-oriented design processes, I aim to contribute to approaches that are regenerative, considerate and long-lasting.

In my work, I enjoy creating new intersections between disciplines, connecting research, strategy and visual practice. I place particular emphasis on deep conceptual development, clear structures and a carefully considered use of colour. I am curious by nature: I question, test and refine methods and aesthetics,
and I bring experience in translating knowledge across related fields and contexts. I am especially drawn to projects that open
up new perspectives, encourage reflective thinking and support more sustainable ways of living together — across species.
